Three questions to take into your next health visit

Bring a short question list to a health visit so you leave knowing the problem, the next step and why it matters.

Before the appointment, write down the concern you most want to discuss and any medicines you take. Bring the list and ask your questions early, even if the visit feels rushed.

Start with three questions: What is the main problem? What do I need to do next? Why is that step important? If a choice is offered, ask about the other options and their benefits and harms.

If an explanation is unclear, ask the health worker to explain it again and where you can get help later. This is a conversation aid, not a diagnosis or a replacement for advice from the health worker caring for you.
